Missions

Missions Ministry perhaps best typifies Hampton Baptist Church. While many of our members do some form of mission work in their daily lives as simply a part of faith, this ministry seeks to share the love of Christ with all in need. The work of our Missions Coordination Team presents an intentional mission effort to which all are invited to participate. Beyond the opportunity to give financially to different efforts, this team guides this ministry in "hands-on" experiences. The Missions Ministry of HBC offers many opportunities to live out your Christian faith. We hope that you will join us in serving God by serving others.

Summer Mission Trips are planned to meet needs of those in other places. In 2005, we sent a group of 40 people to Belize in partnership with Queen Street Baptist Church of Belize City. In 2006 over 40 people went to the Gulf Coast, responding to the call to help people pick up their lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Church-Wide Mission Projects to meet specific needs such as offering labor to our local Eastover Baptist Retreat Center and bolster the ministries of Hampton Ecumenical Lodging and Provision (H.E.L.P.).

Through nine months of the year, we open our doors and hearts in our Soup Kitchen (S.A.M.E.), ministering to the working poor and the homeless.

We host A Night's Welcome for a week each year. This is an ecumenical program which provides meals and shelter to the homeless.

We offer mission organizations for all ages: Mission Friends, GA's, RA's, and WMU. These groups provide mission education and opportunities to minister to others through various mission activities.
