Hampton Baptist Church welcomes you to our web site. Although we are the oldest Baptist church in Hampton, modern information technology offers us this opportunity to expand our ministry in our third century of service, both to the wider community and to our members.

Our church is located downtown in "Old Hampton" and has a long history of ministry to the people of the Virginia Peninsula.  It was organized in 1791, during George Washington's first term, and the sanctuary in which we worship was built in 1883.  We are inclusive in outlook and maintain affiliations with the Peninsula Baptist Association, the Baptist General Association of Virginia, and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

MISSION STATEMENT

Hampton Baptist Church, a fellowship of Christians baptized to symbolize their faith that Jesus Christ is Son of God and Savior, is united in covenant for the proclamation of that message, the worship of God, observance of ordinanaces established by Christ, instruction in spiritual growth, cooperative endeavors with other churches, and service to society consistent with the gospel imperative.

VISION STATEMENT
Adopted in 2007, it helps us define who our church is and where we are going:
"From generation to generation, we will seek to proclaim the good news of God's grace by following the example of Jesus Christ who ministered to the needs of others through teaching, serving, and loving God and neighbors."
